Hasselblad

Difference between *500C/M and 500C/M?

#1
Hi y'all (I'm from Texas, habit, sorry!!)

I'm in the process of purchasing a Hasselblad 500 C/M right now, and I've come across two variations when looking on eBay.

There seems to be a *500C/M version:

And then more normal version, the 500C/M:

Would somebody please explain to me what the differences are? I can't seem to find any information on Google...

Thank you!

I believe that the question was not regarding the 500c and the 500cm, but rather two cm variations, the "*500cm" and the "500cm". What is the significance of the * in front of the 500cm? What does it designate? I have seen this variation myself and am curious about it

The * denote gear for the Japanese market, beyond that they are exactly the same. You can see them on ebay if you add "japan star" to searches.

THe difference between the two as i can see is the color, one is chrome version and one is a black version.

I have 501C/M black version, and i really like to have a chrome version, but because 501C/M a bit/slightly updated version of 500C/M i think, maybe, so i will keep it and i buy 500C/M of chrome one, this way i will have 2 500 cameras instead of one.
