I wonder why they opted for such pattern?

Did their tests show better development uniformity or would changing direction more often stress their design more...?

In this video, though, it seems to change direction after 9 rotations. 🤔

Dont think rotation reversal is exclusive to this machine Isnt there a couple of other machines that reverse but I'm not sure time duration of each direction
.

My question wasn't clear enough. 30 rotations before direction change seem rather excessive. My Jobo changes direction on MUCH higher frequency.

I measured the speeds again at 50rpm, 60rpm, and 70rpm, and it reversed direction after 7, 8, and 10 rotations respectively.
However, sometimes it rotated as many as 20 times before reversing.
Hmm... I wonder if there might be an issue with my processor. 🙄
I’ll keep testing it over the next few days.
Thank you all for your interest.

So it would seem that the direction change is a function of time (and not rotations)?

It depends on if their timer is based on hard interrupts or software counters. Software counters might fail to keep accurate timing if there are competing events.

I hope they can open source the software, so there will be community to improve it.

Today, after powering it on and operating it, it rotated more than 30 times at 70 rpm. 🫥
Following the seller’s request, I recorded a video and sent it by email.

I just removed mine from the box for testing and found the funnel portion with a hinge was broken..the broken piece was no where in he box so I figure it was packed like it. Its a nice machine but for this.
.I have sent a photo and details back to Reflex for a new funnel portion....
Inspect your machine thoroughly...

My email to Reflex Lab sent yesterday afternoon was replied to and a new funnel part is on the way..
I also mentioned to them the need to include in the manual details about the speed/rpm
which would help new owners.

I received an email from Reflex Lab saying that the new product, which has been thoroughly inspected, will be shipped next Monday.

Run a keen eye over it anyway....I checked the box and the broken part was not in the box so as far as I am concerned it was packed and sent broken...
Thouroughly inspected - ? Mmmm, otherwise it would not have arrived with a broken part.

Thank you for your concern. I hope your replacement arrives safely as well. 😅

That is interesting that it was left out. I'm glad they are handling it for you.

They are quite good in replying to e mails (remember tho' the time differences between countries)

Also, I think it would be helpful for new buyers if the product page included information about what is included in the package.
It would also be great if the PDF manual were available for download.

When they first posted this on the Instagram stories they had mentioned in the comments that 75RPM was recommended. I have been using 70RPM.

I wonder if they ever plan to work on a unit for Expert drums?

Their biggest processor, the CPLift version has been out a little while, but it can only do up to the 2550 tank. I'm guessing the limitations of their motors while keeping the size more compact are factors.
