xerox negative for salt prints

i was wondering if any of you hybrid / digital negative users have
ever used waxed xerox or laser prints for a digital negatives to make salt prints ..
i have done this for cyanotypes and it worked out great, but i hesitate with salt prints
( because i am not as familiar with the process and it is more expensive if i screw up ) ...
if you DO this, would it be the same contrast scale / tonal scale for salt as i would do for cyanotype ?

A high percentage of my alternative process negatives are printed onto Pictorico I can enlarge 4x5 it 'staight' to 8x10 negs onto 8 1/2 X 11 inch with an 'el cheapo" Cannon printer... its a case of finding the ink colour.

I got a colour 'chart' a few years ago from a gentleman (A George Smythe... (I "think" that is how he spells his name) that 'helps' find the best ink colour.

i know george, he used to run the hand made post card list. really nice guy
and i know he was into altprocess so it makes perfect sense.
