i just moved (from the south bay) to san francisco. now i can walk to the swap meets on bryan street! now to figure out how to setup my darkroom in the new place. the move has made me realize how well my last apartment was suited for it and how i had a place/routine for things.

I think city dwellers call that "graduating" to city life. Often, you're able to give up the inconvenience of being able to drive anywhere at (those decadent) whims, and you're able to condense all that wasted space of "ranch" living. Note that an inverted 2-roll (35mm) stainless developing tank, when inverted, makes an excellent Japanese-style head rest for slumber. Storage problem solved.

Jason!!! Aggie and I were wondering where you went to!!! I hope the move turns out for the best and that you find darkroom Nirvana in "The City".

Wonderful, now you can Bart it most places. As for a darkroom, take the Bart to Berkeley, and meet tomtom (cha) Looking Glass in Berkeley has good rental darkroom facilities.

Congratulations. Now the bad news. You have managed to move to a city that has the worst weather in California. You get to pay the most expensive real estate prices (rent incuded) without the benefit of California weather.

The good news is, great restaurants and interesting culture.

hrmm... i wouldnt have moved had i not found a place that had darkroom potential. the place i'm in has an office with a half bath in it. if that doesn't say "darkroom" i dont know what it says!!

doing my own darkroom work at home is sometimes the only thing that keeps me sane. even if i produce a stack of prints i hate the next day, it's still worth it.
