The family will be in Atlanta this weekend. Will have some time on Friday and Saturday for sightseeing. We have a car (can't NOT have one to get around Atlanta) but we are staying downtown.

We will be a few blocks away from the Mint Museum, so that will be a definite priority stop.

Any other suggestions?

Whatever you do, be sure to check out the High Museum -- I prefer it over MOMA. I saw a photo show there last month that I think is still hanging that was worth going. Some VERY large prints hangin' there!

My wife wanted to go to Atlanta for a family reunion. She was so suprised when I said sure, lets go. We landed in the late morning and I had a 2 PM meeting set up with Jeff from Quality Camera. About 15 Min. and three turns from the Airport. He's not really a retail store so call ahead or you might never get in. (Think warehouse/fort)

It was a damn expensive reunion but I have a beauty of a Deardorff.

Hey, me too!

Actually, we'll be a little north of Atlanta for a wedding on Saturday, but will be back in Atlanta Sunday afternoon until Tuesday morning. We're planning to see the Aquarium, and hopefully the High museum. What is the Mint?

Hi Joe,

IMO, photography wise there isn't much worth seeing in Atlanta right now. Unfortunately most of the photography shown in Atlanta is ink jet based. In comparison to what gets shown in Chicago, Washington, New York, L.A., S.F. and Santa Fe. Atlanta usually doesn't get squat. The art photography scene here is perverse, IMO. Never the less we do occasionally have some good shows by local artists as well as national and internaionally known photographers.

As Ann mentioned the entire month of October in Atlanta is a city wide photography festival. ACP - Atlanta Celebrates Photography. I think this is the seventh season for ACP. http://www.acpinfo.org/

Fay Gold usually has a good photography exhibit, even if it just in the small room where they have the printfiles http://www.faygoldgallery.com/

check out http://www.acpinfo.org for anything that opens earlier than the start of October

Atlanta Photography Group usually has a show Dead Link Removed
