Is everyone enjoying the blizzard? We have about 10" here in Milwaukee. It's a pain in the reaer on one hand, but a photographic oppertunity on the other. I was at the Lake Michigan lakefront today shooting with my "new" Mamiya 645 1000s. There were lots of people with cameras, mostly diggital and 35 mm it appeared. Did all you other Wisconsin folks take advantage of the weather?...

I'm in New York State. After shoveling out the car. I spent some time shooting snow. Bright and sunny with pristine snow. I was plenty cold. Glad I had my convertable fingerless glove/mittens. Those things must have been designed by a photographer. My film tore off at the end of the roll. Maybe it was brittle from the cold. I had to unload the camera in a changing bag so I put it right on a reel and souped it. My incident meter said "Sunny 16". I thought that I might have to stop down a bit with all that white but it looks great. Nice texture in the snow, good detail in the shadows. Can't wait to go out tomorrow.

Good Evening,

I'm enjoying the television images! My attitude about snow is "anywhere but here!"

Busy weekend. Lots of snow snow shoveling! We also got about 10 inches. My wife is on the town's ambulance corps and my daughter with the fire dept. So we did a lot of running around on unplowed streets - lots of fun actually.

Sunday the sun returned and I was able to shoot 12 shots of handheld 4x5 Tri-x around town. I'm anxious to develop them. I haven't been in the darkroom except to proof color in quite some time.
Take care,
Tom

Neal, I have a pair of custom made fingerless winter photo gloves. I took an 89 cent pair of garden gloves and cut the fingers off. Thet work fine and were very useful yesterday.

Hey Suzuki!
Did not get out to shoot... Glad you did & look forward to seeing some of your shots. Hope to get out soon. If it's not one thing, it's another, lately!

And the neighbors think I'm crazy for being out in that white stuff. I just knew I wasn' alone. Had to give up after the first roll; just got too cold.

After living seven years in snow stormed places of the US, I have to say I had snow for the rest of my life! Here in Crete you have to go looking for it at the mountains and when I was a child I loved going with the family to play with it.
Not anymore.
Crazy Bostonians. Jogging in t-shirts in the middle of a snowstorm.
No, I don't miss those crazy people either!

Freezy white kid stuff!

OBTW, love Aristotelis Grammatikakis' signature. At least you're having sex with someone you love. (Woody Allen).

I went the fancy way and bought a pair from Campmor that allow you to cover your fingers between shots. They are like mittens until you want to take a picture, and then you can quickly expose just your fingers and thumbs to make your camera adjustments. Very convenient and great in the coldest weather.
