What kind of camera did steichen use?

Stiechen was active for decades and used a whole bunch of different cameras, in various formats using different processes. One camera of his that comes to mind is the Zeiss Contax 35mm rangefinder with which he shot just released Kodachrome in Mexico circa 1936.

i should have been more specific. i was thinking about the pond moonlight.

I just saw that pond in moonlight photograph yesterday. The Museum of Fine Arts Houston has an exhibition relating to the moon. There are a couple of rooms dedicated to the space program, and in a couple of other rooms, they displayed various works of art that relate to the moon or nighttime.
This version was a silver print, I think (can't remember for sure). I'd like to see the gumover platinum print that sold for a small fortune a couple years ago.
It's a nice enough image, but the provenance is what makes it special, for sure.

He served in both WW1 & 2 as part of the Navy Photo recon stuff,made some neat inferred 4x5 photos in WW2.
