(sorry derailing the thread out of curiosity) Are Inovisproject and Inoviscoat related? I thought the negative film for impossible/polaroid was made by them!
...
- Inovisproject is a daughter company of Polaroid Originals, and they produce the colour negative film base for the Polaroid films
...
Only for them or they also produce for other customers, or is this left to InovisCoat alone?
Inovisproject is producing the negative film base for their mother company Polaroid Originals. Polaroid has increasing demand for years, and Inovisproject has enough to do with this production for their mother company. That is their full focus. No further products.
Best regards,
Henning
Thanks Henning! The film manufacturing world sure is an interesting one!- both companies are "under the same roof", in the same building
For the last years there have been the following film manufacturers being active in colour film emulsion production and colour film coating:
- Eastman Kodak
- Fujifilm
- Polaroid Originals (including their daugther company Inovisproject which is producing the colour negative film base for the Polaroid films)
- InovisCoat.
Period. That's it. All other offers from different suppliers are either re-labelled films from the manufacturers above, or old expired, discontinued former films.
Best regards,
Henning
Who makes the new Lomo Metropolis film?
Neither Kodak, nor Fujifilm, nor Polaroid Originals..........
Best regards,
Henning
What's the maximum width of substrate that the machine at Inoviscoat can handle?
I take it that it's a single coating head & that anything over 9 layers would have to go through twice - as opposed to Kodak B-38 with its two multilayer hoppers?
Although I prefer Fuji, the cheapest I can get for 35mm is 3x36 Kodak Gold for €8, at German drug store DM.film can be bought $17 for three rolls of 36 color.

Really good value for money. Medium format I prefer to shoot Fuji.
No - they have outsourced distribution.I guess they must've outsourced that factory.
Hi brother ,,,Here in America Fuji is the best and the cheapest film you can get. In the local American big box store, film can be bought $17 for three rolls of 36 color. I do not trust the quality of Kodak.
However that doesn't mean I dont want other cheap films. There just don't seem to be any in existence as the manufacture of film is very difficult and complex.
Hi brother ,,,Mohmad, do you have in Egypt any large chain stores, similar to our Walmart, or Aldi, or supermarket chains? Do they sell film? Those chains have the advantage of bulk purchasing power.
Hi brother ,,,No - they have outsourced distribution.
The vagaries of the distribution systems are the largest component by far influencing the availability and price of film.
Hi brother ,,,Mohmad, from the prices being quoted it still looks as if Kodak from Morco might be the cheapest. Can I ask: Is your real objective to secure colour C41 film as cheaply as possible and that if Kodak is the cheapest then you will buy Kodak?
Have you worked out the price including import taxes, if there are any in Egypt, that is the maximum you and your group can afford to pay? Then it is simply a question of each of us finding a stockist of C41 colour film, telling you of its price and leaving you to contact the stockist, find out if they will deliver it to Egypt and work out how much it will cost you to have it delivered to Egypt

Hi brother ,,,
