If you're in the market for "Vintage 5x7 Film Holders", you'd be advised to check with the seller first and make sure the opening above the dark slide is truly 5x7 inches if that is the format film you expect to expose with the thing. The truth of the matter is, I purchased one of these on E-Bay (and there are 5 left to date) that is (are) not full 5x7 coverage. At least the one I got was oversized for my back and I had to shave it down widthwise to even fit into the back. (My back IS standard i found out) And then and only then did I discover that the coverage area was 1/4" less than the full 7 inches. I had a 5x 6-3/4" film holder. This thing was made by Folmer Graflex for Eastman Kodak and it's called a Kodak Film #1. There was no return allowed on this item even before i took a table saw to it. Be informed. I have been.
And buy smart. Next time, I'll ask more questions. Thanks for listening. Now I'll shut up.
