At the risk of inviting abuse there is a misprint in the Jan/Feb 05 issue of View Camera. The conference and trade show dates are May 20-22, 2005. The location is the Marriott Hotel in Springfield, MA

There are a host of free activities

- a trade show with lots of equipment on display
- field trips and demos to photo spots in the area
- print sharing and a chance to meet other large format photographers
- a chance to talk to reps from Kodak, Ilford and Fuji about your interest in large format films

You do not need to pre-register, just show up and enjoy yourself.

Thanks Steve. BTW, I just bought your book on the View Camera. I've already learned new things from it. I always appreciate the magazine as well.

This is the first time that the VC conference has been held east of the Mississippi, and I hope that everyone in the New England area will be taking advantage of the opportunity to get to the conference for at least a day.

If the conference is a success, it will encourage Steve Simmons to continue to have them in the East on a semi-regular basis. I hope that there are enough interested LF shooters in the NE area to overwhelm the tradeshow with people, and enough people interested in the seminar topics to sell out the seminars, too.

Ultimately, what's good for the conference, is good for LF photography as a whole, so a good strong show of support can help keep the film manufacturers pumping out the film, and encourage the rest to continue to innovate and advance the industry in a way that benefits us all.

Steve,
Bruce Barlow and I are still working on an exhibit of LF work from the Western New England LF Photographers group that will be up during the conference. The exhibit will be at the Valley Photo Center which is in the same complex (Tower Square) as the Marriott. There is plans for a reception of the exhibit on Sat May 21 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
I am looking forward to the conference and hope to meet many APUG'ers there.
