To all,

I have never had a formal class in photography, nor do I plan to any time soon.

I have learned the craft solely through practice, books, and APUG.ORG.

I am still rather a newbie, but learning lots.

I don't have any mentor to teach me in the art.

So, my question is this: are there any educational video series out there that can help teach me the art? From camera selection to the darkroom?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Fred Picker had a very nice series of videos that would be of help, you may be able to order through Calumet.

I remember watching a series about 15 years ago... I think they may have been done by Kodak... Basic darkroom practice etc...

It sticks out in my head because the guy in the video said "WARSH" a lot... It was the first time I had heard it said that way "Warsh the film for..." and it struck me as so odd at the time.

I remember that I borrowed them from my local library here in Windsor.

You might try PSA (Photographic Society of America). IIRC, they had a video instructional series.

Interestingly enough it is one of my projects once I return home. I just need a good teacher and host.
