Hi, i am experimenting with Ziatype printing on vellum. when i coat it, the vellum will curl dramatically. i can't make the coated vellum flat. So some part of the image will blur because of the curl. The only way that solve this problem is using a dry mount press. I set it to the lowest temperature. I just curious will the heat fogging the image? and are there some better solutions can solve curl?

    Thanks.

I haven't had a problem with low temperature. Be sure it is completely dry. Buy Dan Burkholder's instructional DVD. It illustrates every step and lists resources.

Not more than 150F. Place vellum between release papers. Close lightly with repeated up/down motion several times before closing all the way. Close for 10 -15 sec. Remove and place under metal plate or glass to cool.

    Jeffrey,

I went to Dan Burkholder's site but don't see a DVD for sale. Do you know where I can find it?

    Dan,

Go to his website, then "store". Click on Digital Negatives & Darkroom Process. It will be Gold Leaf Printing On Vellum DVD.
