I am in the process of replacing a Seal 4468H vacuum press vacuum diaphragm (tonight/tomorrow). It is 48" x 72" and drew full vacuum (715 mm/28" Hg). The Masonite backer is slightly delaminated from pulling it off the double-stick tape holding it in the press..

We are replacing it on recommendation of the mfr if hopes it eliminates some 'transient' variation in mounting uniformity on shiny items only. We haven't been able to pinpoint it.

Sorry to make an emergency offer, but it will end up discarded in the next day or two (at most).

If you have a use for it, email me. I won't be there until probably 330 PM Eastern afternoons, but if we can establish contact...good. Might be good for DIY'er too.

My partner won't tolerate it sitting here for long. I've got one-two days to find it a home, or it ends up in the landfill!

The shipping crate may be around too.

Free for pickup or donation ($ or photo stuff) accepted!

Update

It's back in the shipping crate (larger than the given dimensions), with the cover screwed on out back (my wife was tired of stumbling around the crate).

The part weighs about 40-45 #, but the trucking co. said 146# in the box. (It can be removed with a screwdriver).

The new one is a different design, but we did note it's less saggy...maybe that's part of the problem we were having. The press has no support in the center either, so I don't think having the Masonite sag in the middle helped any.

Picked up

Local college photog prof took it.

Today I envisioned it with a vacuum pump and a sheet of acrylic foming a 44"x68" contact printer (but I had no room for it).
