upgrade from a CANON EOS 1000F SLR

I HAVE DECIDED TO SHOOT MAINLY film and wondered if you feel that i should upgrade my canon 1000f slr to something a little bit more professional i.e eos 5 etc

also which 35mm film would be the best for someone to use who is still new to film and dont wish to ruin all my photos (if there is one that is )

Nikon F? Or any decent camera with a prime lens rather thsn a zoom.

Film: XP2. Bulletproof, fine grain, sharp, drives the self-elected purists up the wall because they can't f*** it up with funny developers.

f*** stands for 'fuss', of course.

EOS 30 is a fine camera, worth a look.

Film ? Colour neg, Fuji Superia is good and reasonably priced
B&W, another vote for XP2 (drop off at a minilab for developing, as with colour).
Transparency, everyone has a favourite - far too subjective

Try a few different films to see what you like.

How many lenses do you have to fit Canon..1 or several? Have you tried film with your camera..I do not recignize the model number and I do not know if the model you have takes film ?

What do youi hope to gain in the upgrade? Have you been well served by your gear? You may gain some sophistication and ruggedness but it is unlikely that you will get photos with more clarity.

I agree with Roger on the prime lens thing. I have no zooms anymore, all of my lenses are fixed focal length. Zooms can weird you images. Nikon, Canon. Old Minolta X stuff is going cheap like mad on eBay (X and SR cameras take MC and MD mount lenses).
For film, I like the vote for Fuji color films. B&W, I use Kodak's BW400CN (because I don't have a darkroom . . .yet). It uses the same C41 process that developers use on color negative films and can be processed pretty much anywhere you trust to do the job right.
