I just got an Hassy 500 c like a month ago on my local camera store and never tried to unscrew that Zeiss lens. Today was the day : unscrewed with some problems already... and then when I wanted to put it back I´m founding some troubles.. there is something in the way that stops the lens to lock onto the body. I´ve looked some vid on Youtube but not really helpin... I was also checking some pics of the lens but found only showing the front of the lens not the back attached to the body, maybe there is something broke..lets see... any Idea
thx

First off, is the body cocked? You can't remove or replace the lens unless the body and shutter are cocked. Most likely, you may have released the body with the lens off, if you wind the camera, the lens should go on.

It may be a matter of terminology, but the lens mount doesn't screw on exactly, it's a bayonet mount that has small flanges on the body and lens that fit together with a short turn.

The manual for your camera is available here; http://www.hasselbladhistorical.eu/HW/HWVSys.aspx

I've seen a few times when the body shutter release gets tripped while removing or mounting a lens. This can cause the dreaded 'blad jam that more than a few users experience at least once. Luckily it sound like yours isn't jammed on the camera.

In your case if I understand what has happened correctly, try this.
There is a slotted key on the back of the blad lens that mates with one on the body.
Make sure both the body and lens are cocked before mounting. The slotted key on the rear of the lens needs to point towards the red dot in order to mount correctly.

You can use a penny/coin or they even sell an overpriced screwdriver exactly for this purpose.

When both the body and lens are cocked take a look at how these pieces mesh and it will all make sense.

That happened to me once, and I could not unjam the camera for love. Money and a repair shop solved the problem.

If it does happen you can sometimes unjam the camera from coming into the keyed thing with the film back removed.

It's touchy because the key/slot is right below the rear element of the lens and if you slip with a screwdriver...

That's why they made the "unjam" tool. There are instructions on the net for doing this so I won't rehash them here.

The unjam tool is made to prey on unjustified fear. To make you part with (too much of) your money for something you do not need.

The little screw is somewhat near the rear lens element, yes.
But not right next to it. You have to try hard to slip and hit the rear lens.
So unless you are the world's biggest botcher (and there can only be one of us who is that among the nearly 4 billion of us), a small, cheap (!) screwdriver will do perfectly well.

So hang on to your money, and have a look in your toolbox.
