Hi,

I have shot a roll of Tri-X (35mm) rated at 200 ISO. I need to develop it in Rodinal. I couldn't find information for this rating on the web. Can anybody suggest how many minutes I should develop it (at 20C?).

Thanks,
-Stefano

I recently tried this same thing. I wanted to try Rodinal for the first time since I purchased a bottle over a year ago and never opened it. I used unblinkingeye.com's suggestion of 7.5 min, 1:50 dilution at 75 F. I used two inversions, once per minute.

I'm sure I'll have to work on my technique but this is one of the photos from that roll:

I go 9-11 minutes at 1:50 for EI 250, depending on whether it was shot on a bright sunny day or a flat gray day.(9 for sunny, 11 for flat). I like a thinnish negative, though- and generally shoot for a grade 3 paper contrast on roll film. You should get plenty of shadow detail at that speed.

Natrons phtoo is a good examle of how well this combo works. Just for another variable I'll throw in my favorite time for the Tri-x+Rodinal pair

1:50, 10.5 min @ 68 deg F. Most negs from this will print well at gd 2 1/2 to 3 for my tastes.

Hi, thanks everybody!

At the end I settled for 1:50, 10 minutes @20C(68F). The negatives are drying in the bathroom, will let you know how it has gone!

Opss... it seems I forgot to update this post

I think in the end the negatives were slightly too thin. I have an example in my gallery which seems ok, though: you can find it (there was a url link here which no longer exists).
