I'm looking for a few filters to fill in a couple of gaps. It seems the only people that currently make them [#12,15 and 21] is Tiffen. Some come close. B&W makes what they claim is a #22. Just how good/bad are tiffen filters?

I've got the various filters in 3x3 gel format but would like to get them in glass. Tiffen is now making Kodak filters so they can't be that bad can they?-)

Tiffen filters are okay. They're quite widely used in the film industry. The rings are sturdy. Unlike B+W and Heliopan, though, they are usually made from a glass-gel-glass sandwich. B+W and Heliopan are dyed in the mass, and are likely to have better coatings.

Thanks. I even checked out the B+W website figuring it was just the local dealers not stocking them but it looks like they don't actually make those.

I take it back. Looks like the B&W #23 is supposed to be a #15. B&H claims it's a #9 but the schneideroptics.com website disagrees. I figure Schneider should know best.
