I've been playing with B&W for about 4 years now and have been pleased with my progress in exposure, development and printing. After a visit with Donald last week, I started playing with amidol again. His prints have a black which I had never been able to achieve with PWT. The amidol I had been using with azo was too granular and would not go into suspension properly, so I stopped using it after several botched attempts. I started up again with some Formulary amidol, much finer and working better. A friend has ordered some prints of him with his two loves.
The shot posted is a crop from an 8x10 print. I had gone from Ilford's RC paper to azo, fiber, then to J&C PWT. I had been using dektol as my developer of choice and was happy...until I saw Donald's prints and started using amidol on a limited basis again. All I can say is thanks Donald. tim
4X5 Efke 25 & PMK
J&C's PWT in amidol with selenium
Obligatory lousy scan, software and post (yep, same old everything in the digital world)
