Buy a Bessa, put Leica glass on it (what I have done) and with the money you save, get some new LF lenses. Just get a Dyno labeller and stick Leica over the Bessa name. Everyone will think it's some new secret model you testing.

Can support the Bessa idea, I use one, with both Leica and Viogtlander (Cossina) glass. Like it.

Is that sort of like sticking a Harley-Davidson badge on a Yamaha?

seriously though, the Bessa bodies that I've seen look mighty nice.

Victor I had to sacrifice my M6 for an 8x10 setup. I'll definitely get one again or do as Eric stated...

sean and eric, i can speak of bessa only great things, really. i have learned the rf photography on it and many of my best photos are done with bessa and noktons and skopars and ultrons, so i have a very special emotional relation with bessa. but if u have money for leica - leica is much much better in everything. the question is - can u justify the expenses of leica, do u need the quality of it and do u know how to push it, or just do u have extra $$$.

Aren't big chunks of Harley Davidson built in Japan now?.....

I've renamed it to a 'rangefinder' forum instead, felt like some folks were getting left out..

Good move, in my opinion. The Leica Forum on photo.net was also something of a place to discuss rangefinder cameras in general, but there was always a little awkwardness about it, I thought. Better just to call it a rangefinder forum, since that applies to a whole style of photography rather than brand cultism.
