Greetings:

I think I just went crazy and wasted a bunch of chemical - I wrote down this formula for TF3 and I don't remember where I got it from or it I imagined it. Instead of the published recipe I mixed:

800ml Ammonium Thiosulphate
50 g Sodium Sulfite
60 g Boric Acid

Is this a variation or do I need to dispose of this?

Drop a cut leader into it and see if it works. Looks like a buffered rapid fix to me.

More than that - will it kill a pyrocat stain and will it need a super long wash time - I have the published formula with Sodium Metaborate 5g instead of the Boric Acid

you need a little sulfite in it.

sulfate isn't a preservative

He's right, and you should be able to just add the sulfite to the mix you already have and not waste it. Seeing how it wreaks havoc on pyrocat stain reserve it for prints.
