I have some experience with Emofin, did not use it on Tri-X. I use it as a speed increasing fine grain developer on HP5 and TMY, both exposed at 1600. The developing agents in Emofin are rather fine grain, low acutance. Using Emofin on a film at ISO rating with regular times gave pretty low contrast, which is no good for soft enlarger, but Push 2 gives good contrast.

Have you considered Diafine for TX? It is supposed to give a speed around 1250.

These both two bath developers are only useful in my point of view if you are looking for a speed increase. If you are just looking for plain old 200-400 ASA there plenty of other options.

I have used Dianfine and TriX, Is Emofin a divided developer or is a true 2 bath developer? I am not looking for increased speed, rather for compensating high contrast conditions. Dinafine provides goods shadow details, but lacks what I call snap in the highlights.

Like Diafine it is a true 2-bath developer, agents in first, alkali in second bath. Well, we use(d) it for speed gain, like Push 2, otherwise negatives were pretty flat at the times for regular speed. You might look into staining developers for your needs like Pyrocat HD (Sandy King).
