The Tacoma Art Museum is currently showing about three dozen platinum prints by William B Post. Post was a pioneer in the pictorialist-fine art movement at the turn of the 20th century. See the above link for more information on him. His images and printing are incredibly delicate and beautiful. Included in the show is a combination of his original print and a photogravure of it from Camera Work. There is also a letter from Stieglitz to Post.

The other half of the show is an incredible collection of Japanese block prints from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. Post was very much influenced Japanese art and poetry. The exhibits work very well together

If you are in the area and have not seen this show, make time to get there. The show runs through September 16th.
