I've used a C700 for years, gave it and 2 Minolta cameras to my daughter when she became interested in photography. A couple of years ago I was given a super chromega c, but without manuals, unit came with a voltage stabilizer and graylab timer , 2 Tessor f3.5 75mm lenses, a schneider-kreuznach componar f3.5 50mm lens. Couple of lens boards, 35mm, 6X6 and 645 neg carriers but no manuals. I've been having difficulty finding much info on this unit, much less manuals, can anybody help?

David, only using a c700 condenser, I know nothing about color heads, mixing chambers, etc, etc...Since I print mostly B+W does the mixing chamber matter?

The simple answer is no. Except that you can use two of the three color filters for variable contrast with B&W. OK, your question is broader than I expected. :surprised:

I assume by mixing chamber you mean the color dicroic filters. I may be wrong, but I don't think the C has different mixing boxes like the D and larger enlargers. If there are different mixing chambers for different size negatives, than yes, that would be the same for color and B&W.

This is not difficult, but maybe too much for a post. The magenta and yellow filters can be used for all of the grades of most VC papers. Depending on the paper, the amount of each of the filters per grade varies slightly, but there are charts available. Leaving all the filters on zero gives white light, just like any enlarger, although there is a slight difference between a typical B&W condensor machine and a diffusion, which the color head more closely resembles.

Is this what you meant? If so , there is a wealth of info on this site and a zillion other places. Just let us know and we'll try to answer.

thanks David, that answers one question, I really need a manual, there are levers that I can figure out and some I can't, and inside the light house to the right is a small black box that says CC 2 1/4 X 3 3/4 Equiped with infrared filter. To the left of that are the filters that go up and down when moving the levers on front and a lever on the side that seems to zero the filters?

Finally found some info, this was a professional enlarger, now discontinued made for 6x7 format, does have changeable mixing chambers. I also have a chromega c760 that was given to me yrs ago w/o baseboard. May just mount it on the chromega C baseboard and use it if it works. Being the only FILM photographer in my family and associates, I'm constantly getting little presents like this, most of it is junk, but ever once in a while, a gem

Not a problem. Since the mixing chamber covers the largest format the enlarger will handle , it will do all of them.

Thanks David, I really want to try this thing with 35mm, the column is over 4 ft tall , should get some BIG enlargements on the baseboard.
