I'm a photography student, this will be my third year and I've loved working with my film camera. This summer I went to Africa, when I returned it cost me a wad to get all my film developed  so I invested in a digital camera (d70s). Only to find that I can't stand digital or photoshop even. I was going to try to sell my camera on ebay, but my boyfriend (also a photographer mostly b&w) convinced me to keep it. He says its convienient for some things, I came to the realization he was correct, but all of my true art will be done with film. I've also decided to develop and print my own stuff (I'm very excited) so it was wonderful to stumble upon a group such as yourselves to garner some darkroom and development wisdom. I'm sure I will be pestering you all from the corner of my windowless bathroom. Oh I also live in Alabama and I'm planning for a BFA in Photography that should lead to an MFA in Photography. In the market for some good schools I've been looking around perhaps you know of one you could suggest. I'm trying to keep my options open and look for one where I think I will learn the most.

Erin, Welcome to APUG! Here are three links to photography schools that are worthy of your consideration. All of these schools are in sunny Southern California, with Los Angeles (the Creative Center of the Universe) nearby! ;- )

www.brooks.edu www.artcenter.edu

www.smc.edu is a two year community college with a well repected two-year Commercial Photography certificate program. About $150,000 less than the two aforementioned schools.

Welcome to Apug. You just may find that an eager and self-motivated student may learn more here in a month than some universities will teach in a semester!
