I bought a Sto- fen omni-bounce flash diffuser today for my Metz 45CT5 flashgun, they are made in Santa Cruz California , has anyone used one of these gadgets ? I thought some of our members might have used them and share their impressions of them with me, together with any hints or tips they may have.

I use 'em sometimes..have one for the Metz 60CT and my nikon SB's..

I think you only point flash head directly at subject if you have a ttl camera..otherwise, best to angle them up about 45 degrees to strait up.

There's at least one stop loss...I usually bump the output on the nikon flash unit one stop, and add half stop to exposure settiing.
On the metz, if you have a ttl connection, I would adjust one stop to start.

They do soften edges of shadows somewhat nicely.

I also use them - Vivitar 283's, Sunpak 544's, and Metz CT60's.

Check out their website at http://www.stofen.com/index.htm for more info on how to use them correctly.
