Hi all,
If you're like me, you have been stuck at home for the last year. You work from home if you're still working. You don't go out nearly as much with your camera and maybe you're not making many pictures.

I have lots of cameras, film, and an itchy trigger finger but nobody to photograph. I've been keeping my creative impulse alive by photographing "interesting" arrangements of stuff I find around my house. My efforts have paid off, I guess. I have a better understanding of lighting, bokeh, and flower arranging.

How about you? What are you photographing now that you can't get out as much? Are you affected at all?

I’ve been taking a lot of still life’s... pictures of the meals I’ve been cooking and (hopefully) artfully plating and cocktails I’ve been perfecting. Did little of that prior to March 2020. Mostly using iPhone, though.

Just this morning I took photos of a window, a door, several plants, some shadows, and an abstract of a grill on a humidifier.

I've given this topic a bit of thought since it was posted and upon reflection, I can honestly say that after several decades in photography, this past year has been the most productive and rewarding by a very large margin.

In my case, the restrictions and limitations imposed were just what I needed to boost my creativity look deeper at what I was trying to say. At the same time, I managed to simplify, which always a good thing.

I know for many photographic genres COVID has been disastrous, so I am one of the lucky ones.
