Start with Bromo-oil

Hello...
I want to start taking pictures in bromooil process...
Can i use a bleach from Sepia Toner Foma ? or must do it myself ?
Paper... i want use a foma baryt ( karton).
Somebody can help me with this ?
To made prints I use Tetenal Eukobrom developer and Tetenal Superfix Plus Fixer.

I think that very few papers are still good for the bromoil process, but I know that Gene Laughter, a bromoil artist extraordinare, has promoted Kentmere Fineprint VC Warmtone.

The question about bleach and whether the Foma baryta paper is suitable, somebody else will have to answer.

that won't do!
you have to use a special bromoil bleach, and be sure to use fix without hardener, when you make your first print!
Superfix is a nono!
(but TETENAL makes a fix called "Variofix" (which is a powder), and it works well for me.

Gene IS the man to talk to here, as I have never had success in using "normal" papers for bromoil.

I use Liquid emulsion, and here the bleach is slightly different than the one Gene uses.

That formula will be ok ?
a) 750 ml water
b) 10 ml 28% acetic acid
c) 30g copper sulphate
d) 30g potassium bromide
e) 2g potassium dichromate
f) water to 1000ml until shadows remain as a pale green trace
I can do fixer...
I live in Poland... we have Ilford, Foma, Tetenal and Foton Papers ( Bydgoskie zakłady Fotograficzne)

This oil paint will be good for gumoil technic ?
701 Ivory Black Talens Amsterdam ? 200ml
In Poland this cost about 16PLN that is 5,8$ ( 2,75PLN / 1$)
Or to bromoil and another technics i can use a Litographic ink Charbonell Black Velvet 200ml 45,2PLN (16,43$) ??
The Fabriano Tela papers (300g) can be good for gum and gumoil technic ?
To gumoil I must use a transparent positive or negative ?

Fabriano Tela disintegrates in water, therefore isn't suitable for both gum and gumoil processes.

For gumoil you have to use a positive (for gum a negative). Practice with gum first, when you get a hold then try gumoil... The best starter paper for gum is Fabriano Artistico BTW.

Hmmm...
next problem, the UV light source.
Can I use a Fluorescent lamps like this ?

or halogene , the UV lamps is not for my wallet...

I can't help you with the paints and papers. Any paper that is dimensionally stable after soaking in water several times would be suitable for gum.

The lamp - I don't know! Does it have a curve that shows the spectrum of light it produces? I've never used a UV light source, but it seems to me to be an integral and important part of the process.

Why not start with bromoil, which is based on regular standard black & white silver prints on certain papers (according to Gene), and requires MINIMAL investment?!
Then save up for a proper UV lamp. At least you'll be busy in the meantime

- 20/ brown van dyck
= 9,80zł
Earth pigments:
Ferric black 318, intensive
= 8,2zł
Total: 103zł = 34,91$ ......

What watercolor paint will you advise?
Some yellow & magenta ?
Somebody can change topic to " Starting Gum " or something ?
