Was wondering if anybody has tried the new SPUR developer (SD2525 or HRX) mentioned in Erwin Puts Leica site? Seems its geared toward 35mm or smaller (sample shows print from 8x11mm neg). In the Dutch forum its mentioned as being new at Photokina2004 and just out in Febr. Is it another magic potion or is it really ground breaking something? Also in the SPUR site it doesnt mentioned any adress. Any info?

I asked J&C about this 2525, as they sell Spur products, and John said he would be stocking it in a month or so. This was a few weeks back.

I've test it last weekend with FP4+ (120 rol). The first results where not so good as espected. I changed the filmspeed setting to about 75 ASA (=100ASA minus a 1/2 stop). After developing by 20°C and 6'00" the film was not realy good. Density of Zone V where 0.47 instead of 0.72. The next strip developed in 8'10", density now 0.80. Just oke for me because I use a diffusor enlager. Grain is oke.
BTW it was Spur HRX-2 dilution 1+29.

On http://www.spur-photo.de there is a list of distributers.

Marketing is done by Marcus Dunkmann from http://www.8x11film.com

We are doing SPUR for the Netherlands.
If you want a speed limit developer, so the maximum speed of your film, choose SPUR SLD.

If the priority is fine grain and sharpness, choose the fine grain developer HRX-2, but you will loose some sensitivity of your film.

The new 2 component SD2525 developer is a developer for higher sharpness and detailed contrast. Also fine grain but slightly less as the HRX-2.

There is a recommended list of films on their and our (NL) website. One of the interesting combinations of HRX is e.g. with our imported Fomapan T200 film from the Czech Republic.
In general you can say that most Delta films are preforming very well in the SPUR developers. Personal I can recommend the Across 100 in both SLD and HRX-2.
About the SD2525 there is not so much practical information so far.

Best regards,

Robert

Fotoimpex in Germany is the same company as the US JandC.
