Dang it. I left MD just over a year ago or I would. The army is really inconvenient sometimes.

I was planning on going into DC, but I might change my mind. I just moved to Maryland for work and live in Columbia MD.

Where would we meet? What time? How much hiking will be done? My pack of MF equipment and tripod do get heavy.

Gotcha, Steve. PM sent. So anyone else knows, I plan on meeting at the B&N/Starbuck's across the road from Target and down 24 from Harford Mall (on the right behind Panera) in Bel Air, Md. about 9:30 AM Saturday Nov 14.

It will be me and my Mommy. Steve (sirius glass) and Greg (sage) are possibilities. If anyone shows up around then and needs to make sure where we are, my cell is 302-745-5886.

See whoever wherever.

As far as hiking, probably be a lot of roadside. The Falls is a mile off road and I will do that only if Mom is up to it. She really wants to.

Just occurred to me. Falls might be off the itenerary. To cross the creek and have a view of the falls there are about seven or eight sunken stumps that are NORMALLY about two inches above water line.

Yup. A ways to hike for nothing probably but we'll see.

So what are we shooting? Are there still fall colors there or should I pack black & white instead?

I would guess leaves are down. I'm packing 4x5 Ilford Delta 100.

From the state park page talking about the picnic areas:
Day Use Picnic Areas - Hills Grove, Rock Ridge and Wilsons Areas are available for many recreational activities. Tables, grills, restroom facilities and playground equipment are located in each area. The Hills Grove and Wilsons Areas are handicapped accessible. Pets are not permitted in any of the picnic areas. There is a service charge ($2/MD resident; $3 out-of-state) to enter the picnic areas April through October. Seniors and children in car seats are free.

So if a senior arrives in a car seat, there is no charge for the senior. But what happens if the senior gets out of the carseat? Is there a charge then?

The picnic area is on top of a hill that I have actually never been to. And now it is just me coming. Mom can't leave Dad alone all day. So, if we try the falls we might want etra boots and socks to replace the ones we would invariably soak. We can decide. It's a nice walk regardless. I will be at Barnes and Noble at 9:30 in the white Wrangler with the annoying Ohio State stuff all over it.

Had a great day. Steve and I conquered the hills and braved the rapids. We missed Greg. Dummy me turns my cell off when shooting and forgot to turn it back on.

Hope to do this again, and soon.
