Here is a gorgeous old Wollensak Veritar Soft Focus Portrait lens. This covers 4X5 and 5X7 nicely for portraits. But what most folks don
't realize is that you can unscrew the front group from the shutter and then you have a spectacular 17" soft focus lens that covers 8X10 perfectly. Wolly never advertised that feature. Same as the Verito's used to be.
This is a fine post war single coated lens. It's in beautiful shape and the shutter runs like it was new. The red paint indicators that some previous owner put on it to help his technicians would come off easily, but I'm a firm believer in "story" and I usually leave the history present on old lenses alone.
These work like a Verito, but they aren't quite as soft because Wolly limited the aperture to f6 where the Verito used to work at f4. They are delightfully soft at f6 and by f9 or so, it's mostly gone. You choose your softness. Sharp at smaller apertures.
Prices on e-&ay are all over the place but I feel it should be worth $565.00
