there are all kinds of step up rings. You start with your lens size and then add an adaptor and then a ring that screws into the adaptor. the ring can be any size you wish. I use them on my mf lens so i only need one step of filters with an adaptor for each lens making them the same size. as i remember they are made by Kalt. My dealer has them.

The "series" filters are not found much today. Current lenses use the conventional mm designations of sizes. I doubt that you will find a step up ring since this would be an item with limited market potential. If you did find one it would most likely come from a used camera business such as Midwest Photo.

If you do not find one at a used camera store, I would suggest one of two options. The first would be to have SK Grimes make a step up ring. The second would be to use a compendium lens shade/filter system such as the Lee sytem. The first avenue would probably be the less expensive option. Good luck.

They are for sale all the time on ebay. You just need to be sure of the size that you need and ask the seller questions to be sure you are getting what you want. I use the series filters on my Speed Grahics, so if there's something more specific you are looking for, maybe I can help.

Thanks for the answer guys. I really haven't seen any Series6->whater_mm step up rings. i have lots of 52-55 and 49-55 but not series stuff to stuff.

Finding it will probably be not worth it. It will be for a Portragon lens that I got for under $10 bucks. Perhaps I'll just tape my 52mm in the front of the lens.

I'm not sure what you need is a true "step-up". I have a couple of Series-6 to 52mm "Adaptor"s. When you begin looking on E--- or whatever, try that nomenclature. A couple of years ago, there were several sources of adaptors to various sizes.

Good hunting, dr bob.

Series VI step up rings ... Portragon lens

I found the Portragon isn't S VI - which is 44mm - but 45 mm*. I found this out after I found a 44mm -> 52mm step up ring that didn't fit.

I made up the silly mm of difference with some epoxy putty. The adaptation is permanent, but why would I want it to be other.

I have had a lot of fun with this lens http://www.nolindan.com/UsenetStuff/portragon.html

*Actually it may not even be 45mm - as I never got hold of a 45mm adapter - it could be 44.5mm or 1 47/64" for all I know.
