Searching for Camera for extreme long time documentation

Hi there,

i am searching for a camera that can record for extremly long that means for atleast a week to a month 24 frames per second 24/7. So i want quite a small one, video can be highly compressed. Should be easy to forget, no noise etc.

I want to document a week or month of my life with everything that comes with that. I want to try to forget the presence of the camera so i can capture real emotions, outbrakes, but most importantly i want to see how humans act when there is no camera. Im trying to figure out little nuances to improve my understanding of human nature. Any ideas? I may have an old smartphone lying around, maybe there is a possibility to get the camera part of that out. I also have the bmpcc4k, but that is quite big in filesizes and is bulky and also my camera for work.

Any ideas? I would love to have a very very sensitive camera too, so i can see stuff when there is barely light in the room.

Why not look at security cameras? Maybe even with IR light for seeing in the dark? That's what they're made for.

Do you want constant recording or movement triggers? Continuous recording for long periods demands a lot of data, even at relatively low resolutions. Car and security cameras wipe contents unless they are stored separately. Modern 4k cameras often overheat after an hour or less.

If you are happy with low fidelity it's possible.

I want unstopped recording. I will be in my room for 90 percent of the time anyway, because of the lockdown, so motion triggering it doesnt really make sense. My brother has one rasberry pie laying around with a camera module that even switches to infrared when its too dim. So that is a perfect match... the thing is how do i get it to save data on a pc. Most sd cards will be to small for this, because as far as i know you can only compress it a bit. I would love to get youtube compression in camera. It would be 90 gb for a whole month. If thats possible icould even use an sd card, i already own.

why don't you get an in home security monitor or a "ring" doorbell with a camera. built in, have it UPload it to your cloud account..

Can it be powered by AC or USB power? If not, battery life will be the limiting factor.

If you can be tethered, you probably want something that can save the data to a computer or external drive.

Thanks for all the infos guys. It is installed now. I will send you some updates. Its running for a 2 day test. It was super easy to set up. Ill give you all the set up and details.
