This Sea & Sea Motormarine II, underwater, point and shoot type camera is powered by 2 AA batteries.

The camera OBLITERATES BATTERIES! When using flash in sunlight two fresh Duracell alkalines lasted ONE ROLL OF FILM shot over a couple of hours. Batteries were too dead to rewind the film all the way. TWICE!

This was on the beach and in the sea and surf on Florida's Atlantic Coast.

Any help w/ this issue would be appreciated. Anyone knowledgeable about battery usage in these simple cameras? NO WATER got in, I'm sure. Camera is dry and sealed.

Try the Eveready Lithium AA's !

Try the Eveready Lithium AA's !

They should at least get you through a dive w rewind.

But it sounds like you've got an internal power short.

Does the camera drain the batteries even when turned off ?

This may be a clue. It happened to me on a Canon EOS RT, years ago.
