anyone have experience on how to use lee filters with the schneider 90 & 72 XL lenses

lee has the push on filter holder that will fit the lenses, but will the center filter on the lens make it to big to fit?

if anyone has any other ways or suggestions please post

I have just had to buy the std push on holder to go with the 3b centre filter for 58, 80 XL lenses. It works well, with donut spacer can get 2 filter slots before vignetting on 58 XL, also works for 80mm. For the 80mm using an 86mm ring, I can use my normal holder with 3 slots plus 105mm pola ring. Lots of extra gear to carry to go with these lenses...

For the cf to fit 72 and 90XL you need a special 115mm filter holder made for these lenses and probably the Lee 130mm filters (Cokin X-pro sized). So there are options available, look under special filter holders here:

I looked at the Lee filters several years ago, ended up going with filters by Harrison & Harrison. They're cinema filters, 4x4 and 4x6 (grads/split ND), glass and a bit thicker than the Lees, but I believe they will fit the Lee holder too. However most of the time I just gaffer tape a few together and either hold 'em in front of the lens or if need be tape them straight to the lens.

Put my polarizer on the rear element of the 58 & the 90 so I don't need to contend with that one. Also that way I don't have to worry about vignetting at all as the Polas are 77mm. I do have a few 4x4 polas alsoe (warming, cooling etc) and if need be I can just add those to the stack in front of the lens if I don't have time to set one on the rear element.

Filter options for 90 SA

I have the Nikon 90mm and use the regular Lee with the screw on adapter, but the Lee wide angle lens hood is necessary with WA lenses

I was never happy with the rubber band lee thingy, a bit twiddly
