just got my new (used) vtrack easel today. upon inspection, the blades are kind of tough to move. Its not like I struggle with it, but I just expected them to glide pretty freely and I can see this as being a problem when I'm trying to get the borders just perfect for prints that I won't be mounting. Is this normal? I've never used a vtrack before, just the older universal ones with the knobs that let you adjust in very tiny increments. do I have to oil them or something? The easel is in great shape, I think its less than a couple years old.

Otherwise it is really heavy duty and I like how the easel stays open without having to prop it up with any kind of latch or anything. Just waiting for my paper from freestyle and I can start printing again!

Vjas, I have a V-track Saunders 11x14 easel that I bought 4 years ago and it hasn't changed at all in the ease or lack of ease in moving the blades. Yes, they are by default slow to move and I love it that way because it prevents me from moving them too far too fast in one direction, thus having to move them back in the opposite direction and starting all over. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with your easel.

Rjas, I forgot to tell you that before you move a blade, lift the front easel border first and that will make it easier to move them.
