Rolleiflex CLA in Germany or EU

My Rolleiflex T could probably after 2 years of service and 80 films in my hands get a nice CLA. I considered to swap it for a GA645 or RF645, but as I just recently got an R3A, this will not happen any soon as of yes, I will have a peace in mind that the camera is all right.

As I am located in Germany so this should not be a problem, but as I do not have any experience with any service point, I would like to ask for your recommendations. I have in mid a full CLA. Also the Rolleiflex leader case I have started to fall apart (I mean the seams, the leather is very nice), but I do not know how much this could cost to repair, as the seams are rather .

The camera itself is fully working condition, although the shutter release could be a bit smoother. Also - I want to be on the safe side with the shutter - as I often shoot with slides.

so - your suggestions please.

Jurgen Kuschnik did my '37 Automat back when he lived in California. Great job. He has a great rep for Rollei 66 as-well as TLRs

I can also recommend Mr. Kuschnik. He did a complete overhaul of my SL66 this year. Great work and price was very reasonable.

Mr. Kuschnik is a true repair wizz. He saved my 51 rolleiflex from the grave. He did an amazing job. In fact I'm just about to send him a Hasselblad for a complete overhaul.

Thank you all for your replies. I have just contacted Mr. Kuschnik and asked about the price estimate - it should be around 98 euro for shutter and 80 for film transport (but not clear whether the second will be needed or not). I will probably give it a go.

He's well worth it. If your films come out fine with no overlapping frames a film transport overhaul will be unnecessary. Them film transport system in rolleiflex cameras are generally very very robust.

Another vote for Jurgen, I sent him two TLR's for CLA last year, the shutter speed and aperture dials were stiff and clunky, and they came back working smoothly again, a very reassuring feel. I discovered this year that here in UK we also have Brian Mickleboro who specialises in Rollei SL66, TLR and 6000 repairs, with a very good reputation.

Thank you all. I guess I will send my camera to Jurgen. My film transport is most probably OK as I do not get overlapping frames. the frame spacing does fluctuate between 2 - 5 mm (a wild guess) and only once it happened that the first frame started too early (immediately as the film started). I get more problems with film transport with my Oly Xa which is much younger ;-).

It's normal behavior for a rolleiflex that the frame spacing isn't 100 % precise. Meaning that the space between the frames can vary a little. As long as you don't have overlapping frames, you're fine.

OK - so the camera is back from Jurgen. The film transport was OK so it did not need any work (he tested it). Hi did a CLA for the shutter and also fixed the somewhat loose tripod socket (which is VERY nice as the camera had cca 5 - 10 degree play when mounted on tripod).

Jurgen also included the shutter times before and after CLA (I kindly ask him for that). The camera arrived clean and SUPER packed - I have yet to see something packed so securely. I can just say that I would not be worried to throw the package out of window from my office (in 2nd floor) - I am not going to do that though

Not to mention that Jurgen was very kind and friendly both via email and telephone.

The repair took less than two weeks including shipping. I was worried as I need the camera for the weekend but Jurgen assured me that it will come in time - so it did.

So - thank you for the recommendation - it was a good one. 3 thumbs up for Jurgen !!!
