I didn't know there was a Rolleinar 4. I have a 1 and 2 for my 2.8E and know of the 3, but never heard of a 4. I use the #1 a lot and occasionally use the #2.

i never heard of a 4 either -- the 3 gets you pretty darn close, so much so that the parallax prism on the viewfinder lens is so extreme it is hard to focus.

I would guess that 2+2 or 3+1 = 4. Not too sure how one would do the parallax adjustment, though, except to use 3 since it will be fairly close

Hey Brian,

No math here. There's is actually a Rolleinar 4. I found it on ebay for peanuts in perfect condition. Based on the info I found it was part of a kit to shot Oscilloscopes' screens or something like that. It comes with its own parallax correction lens shown on the photo.

I do have the #1 and #2 but I bought it the #4 because it was really cheap and extremely rare. Focusing distance is 19cm!

Very cool. I had never heard or read about such a thing.

Some fast searching got me this:

"The Rolleinar 4 was part of the Philips Oscilloscope set and is mentioned in
the Prochnow #2. There seems to be a Rolleinar -4 (negative lens) as well,
which also came with the Philips set but then probably at (very) special
order. This Rolleinar -4 should enable focusing at infinity with the
Polaroid-back and Rolleicopi combination."
