Hello! I have some of the Rollei IR 400 film that I wish to develop and my normal developer is Ilford DDX. My question is - Does anybody know the suitable developing time for this combination?

Thanks in advance.

I guess that combination has not been tested... The Massive Dev chart http://digitaltruth.com/devchart.html has no listing for that combination. DD-X was introduced in 2003 so it is somewhat new. The chart states that the Rollei films are the same as Maco film. I don't know if this is the same for the IR stuff too.

Maybe someone else has tried it?

Sorry I don't have the answer.

The new Rollei films have nothing to do with old Maco films. Also the Rollei IR-400 is totally different than the Maco IR820C.

IR-400 is not tested with DD-X yet but for a good starting point you can use the APX400 (new) or Rollei Retro 400 times for this film. Same for Rodinal (preferable 1+25) when using this IR film with non Rollei developers.

Best regards,

Robert

Then this statement on the Massive Dev Chart site is wrong?

"Rollei films are the same as Maco films. The published times are identical (subject to revision), so simply refer to the relevant Maco chart for the development information you require. We are awaiting further clarification on this product line, but the type/speed of the Maco films should indicate which Rollei film is the equivalent product. More information will be published as it becomes available."

Or are there old and new Rollei films? I understand the IR films are different.

All Maco products including their chemicals are being marketet under the Rollei label up from the Photokina in 2006 in Köln.

All older Maco films (UP25/UP100/IR750C/IR820C/PO100C/TP64C/ORT25) are discontinued in production and have NO connection to the new Rollei/Maco films.

Rollei/Maco is useing for their new films two production lines in Western Europe.
The older Maco films were made on specs at the Efke factory in Croatia where the actual Efke/ADOX films are produced.

I can only suggest to call/mail Maco or Rollei in Hamburg/Stapelfeld or Braunschweig about their new products or visit their booth on the Photokina in Köln (Cologne).
