Gents & Gals..

After several searches and reading (quick?) of the afga rodinal documentaion, I'm unable to find the required amount of stock solution of rodinal pr 4x5 sheet in my jobo 3010 tank.. Films in consideration are Fortepan20, J&C pro 100 and Efke PL 100.

Best..

210 ml of the dilution of your choice for one sheet. 330 for 10 sheets.

It is questionable if Rodinal can be used with continuous agitation.

I have made up a 1/2 liter for an 8/10 tray and done one sheet, emulsion up. Lift the top and left edges for one cycle and the right and bottom for the next. lift as high as possible without spilling and let the sheet really move around. This makes a nice random pattern.

Gordon Hutchings came up with this for PMK and it seems to work for everything I tried it on. Pmk requires lots of agitation, but not continuous.

Agfa say 10ml concentrate per 35mm or 120 roll used as a one-shot, so that makes approx 2.5ml of concentrate per 4x5 sheet. Dilute to taste...

Agfa also give times for continuous drum agitation in their datsheets.

Continuous agitation seems to work ok with Rodinal. I use ABS tubes and I have no choice but to roll them steadily in a water bath. It works just fine.

I've been testing Rodinal with fp4 8x10 lately and have found:, lower temperature and/or lower dilution agitation is fine. Maybe even desirable. Stonger dilution and/or higher temperature does create surge and streak problems. It could be my agitation also, I'm not sure.
