One „sub“ on Reddit is r/AnalogRepair, which covers the same topics as our repair forum.

It’s worth checking out—interesting projects are posted there all the time. Even if, due to Reddit’s fast-paced nature, they quickly fade into the past.

Our colleague Ok-Gullo, who regularly shares interesting projects there, is working on a Pentax ME Super at the mirror box level.

Anyone who can master this is among the serious DIY repairers, because this is one of the most complex tasks when it comes to electromechanical SLRs.

Not only does the proper removal of the mirror box involve many steps, including soldering, but the reassembly—particularly the correct coupling of the connecting elements—poses significant challenges.

It’s interesting to note that even on dynamic Reddit, it’s not possible to present a repair effectively without a detailed description and close-up photos.

By the way I don’t see Reddit as a competitor to PHOTRIO, since the platforms complement each other.

People who share DIY projects on Reddit reach a large audience of young people in particular, who may be inspired to try it themselves.

PHOTRIO is undeniably the go-to resource for discussing all aspects of film photography and is a leader in the DIY community.
