I’m working on rebuilding a Rapax but I’m struggling to remove the the focus lever which is needed in order to remove the case.

The lever can’t be removed through the case slot, the spring lever is too large.

The lever wont come out towards the lens mount, it hangs up against the case, and it fouls against the posts.

The service manual has excellent disassembly instructions and just says “remove the lever” 🤣

Hoping someone can help me out!

What @OAPOli said, in image 5989, that pan head screw needs to come out, (then what/whereever the spring is), then the majority of the lever the gets lifted and pulled towards the center and this should allow you to then lift the thing to 90 degrees at the bend and the external portion of the lever to pass through the slot.

I tried to screen shot your photo and the use markup, but the results were 1-year-old with a crayon at best.

Yeah so in the first image you can see I’ve removed the screw and spring. But I wasn’t able to lift it out towards the center. It would hit the inner surface and the external part of the lever was too long to let it come out.

I /did/ remove the lever today but I’m going with it having been bent previously because the only method that worked was to carefully apply quite a bit of pressure upward while lifting so that the lever bent slightly and allowed it to clear the case.

Should be fun to get back in 🥵

I'm already late for work so...
It's funny the things that don't click at first glance, it looks like you have a pin and then the inner lens barrel that are both a reasonable amount higher so a pretty big degree of tilt would be required to clear those huh?

This sort of makes me want to pull a shutter apart again. Sort of. If you get stuck, I may have a Rapax in pieces around here someplace. (The shutter from a little 127mm ektar)

Good luck!
