Hi  First of all, let me apologize (profusely!) for not responding to your PM in a timely manner. Family + holidays gobbled up my time and I just didn't get to it. So again, my apologies!

To answer your question, with my Horseman (which is still for sale and has been reduced in price) I used a heavy Gitzo-WannaBe tripod with a Bogen 3047 head. Worked just fine and the quick release was a real helper in the field.
And for hauling the Horseman, I used a LowePro PhotoTrekker AW II - a huge backpack but it certainly did the job. I packed it by detaching the bellows and setting the standards parallel which made the camera as flat as possible.
I'm a petite woman and I had a hard time with my LE in the field but an average size fella should be able to handle it a wee bit better.

I used a Lowepro Stealth backpack with the computer case taken out of it. I could fit the camera, meter, 6 film holders, 2 lenses, polaroid holder and film in there. I'm a 6' guy and I didn't have any trouble carrying around the weight although I never really took it all that far either. I used it with a Reis tripod and head, a great combo!

Been using the LE for a while now, and I'm still working out what works best for me. My tripod is a Gitzo 1320mk2, which has been working great; solid, simple, no complaints whatsoever. I've been using a Gitzo 1377m ball head, with no quick release, which is NOT working very well for me. It's a PITA to level, and it's a PITA to mount the camera on the tripod. I'm looking more along the lines of a Bogen 3047/3057/329RC4 3-way head, with a QR.

My "bag" is actually a trunk, a Calumet Deluxe Molded Large Format Case. Got it fairly cheaply on ebay. It's a horse of a trunk, and it's very bulky and heavy, possibly heavier than the entirety of the gear I keep inside it, I was noticing this past weekend while out shooting. The upsides: it holds a LOT of stuff, and there isn't much chance of anything inside being hurt. Put some wheels under it, like a wheeled luggage cart or a dolly, and it's perfectly satisfactory for urban work, which is pretty much all I do these days. It's definitely not the most efficient way to haul my gear, but it works.

Will, I use 329RC4 head and quite satisfied by one used for my Shen-Hao and heavy Canon setups. This is contrary to a standard 141RC pan/tilt head I sued to work with some time ago and was a creepy one once subjected to a heavy load at any but non zero angle. Once I put my canon setup with even non-significant tilt/swing - it would creep noticeably no matter how hard it will be fixed.
329RC4 is world of difference and works very smooth.

As about bags, i would suggest checking Kata backpacks aside of usual LowePro/Tamrac choices - I found Kata backpacks to be better choice for a heavy load yet very convenient and sturdy.

Sorry, I meant that I am 6 feet tall. That was in response to an earlier poster who found it difficult to carry the LE around. She had mentioned that perhaps a bigger guy wouldn't have any trouble. I'm a bigger guy and I didn't have any trouble:smile:

For another 4x5" ?
And yeah sorta... I bought a lighter 4x5 (Shen-Hao) and now the Horseman doesn't see any action.

I'm not a strong guy and I have to do walk with this camera, I have to work on this (good bag, good way to eat...) and sometime I think about a folding but to have one I'll have to sell my LE and use only a folding perhaps it's not very fun.
So I look on a folding like MPP, to have both.
