I bought one of these at a yard sale the other day. It is without the actuator solenoid part.

I have some LF lenses in barrel, and I have some woodworking tools.

Any ideas on what I could build?

I'd be tempted to find a small air cylinder to fit in the space that was occupied by the solenoid. By attaching an air bulb on the other end of a length of tube, you'd have a simple way of operating the shutter in the field - I have a couple of Luc style shutters that I use the same way. If you don't mind the added complexity of batteries, it wouldn't be too difficult to find a solenoid.

Based on the limited info I can find on these shutters (primarily the E/40), I'm guessing you have a 100mm opening - That provides scope to use some of the real big barrel lenses....

I'm finding this thread many years after, but have also an E/100 that I'd like to use with barrel lenses.
Was curious to hear what you have worked out.
What interested to know how this shutter is mounted and how the lens gets mounted to it.
