I have a Durst M605 equipped with an el-Nikkor 50mm lens. Should I be looking for another lens for my 120 negs? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

You need 75-80mm for printing 120. Someone's selling EL-Nikkor lenses here right now in that size.

Minolta E.Rokkor 75mm f4.5 lenses are excellent and cheap... the Meopta Anaret S & Meogon S lenses are superb too.

Hope this helps,

I've got the Nikkor 75mm and Minolta 75mm. The Minolta is a stunning lens and sells for a ridiculously low price on the auction sites.

Yes, a 50mm lens will vignette. There a number of really good lenses out ther, make sure you get a 6 element lens, like the best Schneider ones. pyrometol

True, I find my 4 element Tessar design Nikkor 75, kinda soft on the edges for 6x6, razor sharp at the center.
I think it`s great for 35mm, if you aren`t doing big enlargements and can tolerate the arm exercize ...

Cheers

Rodenstock Rodagon's are fantastic but on the upper end in price for a used lens. Look for a good 6 element lens. As a general rule 6x6= 80mm, 6x7=90mm, 6x9=105mm.

Must be my lucky day. When I dropped into my local camera shop I met a chap who had just purchased a monster Nikon film scanner. He's getting out of printing in the darkroom.
Bottom line is that he sold me a very nice El-Nikkor 75mm 1.4 for my 120 printing.
Thanks all for your advice.
