    And they are off!

I've added the following to the FAQ thread:

Please indicate on your card which round it is part of.

Also, it really helps if you indicate who it comes from.

Titles are nice, and make it easier to comment.

And if your handwriting is as bad as mine ....

I certainly won't! It's even closer to Holland than New Zealand.

BTW: Did you know that "New Zealand" was named after the province of "Zeeland" overhere in The Netherlands?
Abel Tasman, a Dutch explorer, was the first European to sight New Zealand in 1642.

Oh, and we also visited Japan in those days, triggering "Rangaku" (= Dutch learning). In fact, there even was a Dutch enclave on Dejima. It was used by the Dutch as a trading post from 1641 until 1853.

Since you asked, I'm getting stamps today for a wide range of countries:
    - within Europe: Germany (5x), Norway (1x), United Kingdom (1x), France (1x),
    - rest of the world: USA (16x), Canada (8x), Japan (1x), United Kingdom (1x), Australia (1x), India (1x), New Zealand (2x), Thailand (1x),
    - and yes: one card domestically: within The Netherlands.

Actually, I do -- I have even visited Abel Tasman national park on a 3-day kayaking trip (one of the best experiences of my life -- would love to go back!). Of course, the Dutch presence in Nagasaki is well documented and I visited Dejima for the first time last year.

I think it's been quite a while since we've had such a range of countries -- really looking forward to this round (just need to choose a neg or two to print!)

That definitely looks like one global round!
A scheduled travel went bust or I could've upped it to a full participation too. So many stamps! Should be fun!

Second batch is in the mail. I'm up to a total of 24 sent cards now:
    - 7x Canada
    - 10x USA
    - 2x Germany
    - 1x Australia
    - 1x India
    - 1x United Kingdom
    - 1x Japan
    - 1x The Netherlands (my home country).

It really is an international exchange, isn't it? I wonder how long it will take for all these cards to reach their destination.

I marked all the cards with "APUG-PCX33" to let the recipient know it is from this postcard exchange.
I'll try to send out the rest in a week or so. I'm logging who I'm sending what, since I have three different cards.
I wouldn't like to send someone the same card in a future PCX.

Yes, it has been quite a while since that happened. (Except for the card that I usually send to myself, somewhere in the middle of the stack of cards, to be sure that the mailbox is at least emptied.)

If you'll receive my card today or tomorrow, I'll know the mailbox was actually emptied and processed.

I received my first PCX card (ever) today. It came from Steelbar in Canada.
    It's a very nice B&W print of a powerhouse generator made with a Mamiya 645 on FP4 in D76.

I was recently given a Mamiya 645 Pro by a profession photographer who went digital.
I shot my first roll last week (Fomapan 400) but didn't develop it yet. Looking at this fine image
I'm even more curious what my camera will bring me. I hope I'll find the time to develop
it next week, maybe in Caffenol.

Thanks, Steelbar: you're up on my darkroom wall of fame

    Small world

I'll be sure to make sure Steelbar knows about your post Bert:D.

He and I (and a few others from our darkroom group) were shooting together that day. So ironically, Bert in the Netherlands is going to receive at least two different shots of an antique power generation installation in Stave Falls, BC, Canada.

And at least two of them will be shot on Mamiya 645 equipment.

    Isn't it a small world!
