Not having to handle this before I recently printed a large portrait 24"x20" on this paper which I bought 3 years ago very happy with the results and the model wants a copy the same size, tried 4 other prints and all developed bloches and darkish grey to almost black patches on the print.
The box has a use by date of 11/03 so a couple of years out of date no big deal I thought a local pro said to check the paper undeveloped in room light and if yellow it,s to far gone luckily their are only 13 sheets to finish the pack but at $265 au for 50 shts damn what a waste.
Anyone out there have any ideas to perhaps revitalise the remaining sheets,
long odds I know but worth a try.
regards

Hi Barry. Sorry I can't help you save your paper, but coincidently I had a box of 100 Polymax RC dated late '03 do exactly the same thing earlier this year. I think mine may have been out-of-date when I bought it, but being a darkroom novice didn't know to look at the date. Sitting in a drawer through an Aussie summer probably didn't do it any favours either. Such a waste.

Thats interesting the chap who got the paper for me was a prolab in Adelaide he got caught in the Digital downturn and as being a analog lab lost a lot of
printing He used Kodak paper exclusively, I presume that the paper was on the way out when i got it.
I have some ilford gd 2 24"x 20" its 12-15 yrs old and still prints acceptably
the exposure is longer.
By the way which state are you living South Australia Adelaide my area.
thanks for your reply.

Hi Barry. I bought my paper from a small Kodak dealer in the South East who has a very low turnover in darkroom gear. He has got to the point now where he is happy to order stuff in for me, but doesn't keep much on the shelf as it sits there too long. I also buy from Vanbar in Melbourne and I expect you know Eden's in Glenelg if you are in the city. They are a very helpful bunch of guys.

I'm still a novice at both photography and darkroom, but am thoroughly enjoying the learning process. I haven't seen many South Aussie's here on Apug, but I know Chiller(Steve) is from Adelaide. Cheers. Carol.
