Pinhole: Gloriette, Vienna

Hi, a couple of days ago I got my first pinhole camera. I am very fascinated by the pinhole concept, it seems to be almost magical to me. Of course I know it's physics and chemistry, but still I am thrilled by learning more about lensless photography.

Attached is a photo of the Gloriette in the park of Schoenbrunn Palace (Vienna, Austria), or better: Of the heaven above the Gloriette. And of a sort of hair that was somehow attached to the camera body.

This is cool. I also love pinhole photography. Carried my 4x5 pinhole in the car today, but inspiration ended ther, unfortunately. Soon.

It was made with an ONDU 6x6.
The film was Kodak Ektar 100, a very forgiving film. Though I used an app for my phone, I didn't develope a routine to wind the film forward (yet). So, I very often exposed one frame correctly - not only once but two or even three times... And frankly, that didn't mean to be a problem for the Ektar, the colors became just a little bit warmer. Next roll is the Portra 160. Looking forward to see what this Kodak will show me.

Didn't develop a routine? Do you mean you just aren't in the habit of advancing the film after you take a photo? Or do you mean you haven't figured out how many turns it takes to get to the next frame? Nice result though! Refresh my memory- didn't you just get this camera? I seem to remember a post saying that your Ondu 6x6 came today about 2 weeks ago or so? If so, how are you liking your new camera?

I really like shooting pinhole too. Glad you're getting into the swing of it. They open up so many possibilities for creative expression, not only in terms of the look of the image, but they also make things like multiple exposures much easier to experiment with. I've got two pinholes now - a Travelwide 4x5 with a 65mm focal length pinhole, and a Vermeer 6x18cm. The Vermeer is quite a strange animal but I really enjoy shooting those super-wide panoramas with it.

Yes, for me, too, pinholes open so many possibilities - and so much more than any other sort of photography. I am really thankful for it!

Haha, no I hadn't develope a routine of advancing the film after taking a photo! It was my first roll. While shooting my second, I was pretty aware of it and avoided it. But I was so relieved, that nothing serious happened the first time.

It seems to be the magic of pinhole that the special blend of film, exposure time, camera, and motive is much more open to experiments than in traditional film photography.
