Due to a rapid change in style I am selling off this camera with two lens.

Body condition is great with minimum signs of use. Meter has more marks on the outside but overall good. Optically it is perfect. Lenses are clean and clear with smooth operation.

I had things checked by Frank Marshman a short while ago and they are all good. Two receipts from him was photographed.

One unique thing about this body is that it has a modification to quickly remove back so that you can put a polaroid back on. Check photo#4. You can see a hinge.

Price (shipping included, but please add fee):
Body (with prism, strap and cap) = $725 USD
    55/4 (with caps, case) = 295 USD
    135/4 (with caps) = 140 USD
    Tubes = 45 USD

    Thank you.

Only the body is left now.

On the fourth pic there is a pin on the hinge-side of the rear cover. Is that a custom modification for quick removal of the back, or something else?
I haven't seen that before on any Pentax 6x7 or 67 body. It probably rates as a rarity on the same scale as the multiple exposure facility (factory-installed modification on probably less than 600 cameras worldwide)

    Hi,

I actually don’t know. This is an used one i bought a while ago. I never noticed this until you mentioned. Multiple exposure 6x7 is indeed rare but one of my saved pentax seller is asking for $400 something. This system is really underrated.

Just spoken with my picture framer who until 1991 was a Pentax 6x7 owner.
He has informed me that a 250-exposure roll back was available and required the rear cover to be removed, either by a Pentax service centre or, less commonly, by the factory-fitted pin that allows removal of the back cover. He thinks this is what you have in the fourth pic. Gosh, I have never seen the 250 exposure roll back, much less heard of it being available. And I imagine the weight of the beast would have been forbidding for all but well-built owners, certainly off the scale for stick insects like me...:D
See, even long-time users of the P67 system learn something new every day!!

Thank you and your source for the information! That’s really interesting. I tried googling the thing and nothing came up. I probably should keep This unique body.

I just checked with Eric Hendrickson. He told me that it is actually a mod to use polaroid back with the body. There is one on eBay that has the hinge as well.

With the removable back, there is an element of uniqueness to your camera that may lend reason to hanging on to it, or at least bumping up the asking price, just as one would do if the multiple exposure facility was present (I use this a lot).

I am waiting for a roll back picture from my framer, though he has to trawl through mountains of photos dating back decades (during his time in fashion and commercial) and is not hopeful. I suspect such a trinket pre-dates Google by a long, long time! The Polaroid back would be a fit too, though I've never seen it. Andrew tells me his P6x7 was used with a trigger grip and left handle fitted with a flash.

I'm glad to know Eric is still in the repair business for the ancient P6x7/P67 cameras; there were rumours he had, or was planning, retirement!

    Sorry for late reply.

Eric is really a good source of Pentax related stuff. It will be a loss to the community if he retired, but he does deserve a rest.

    Have you obtained the photos?
