Silverprint, London, UK, has stopped selling OS paper, claiming the stuff on sale now is not the same as the original, and:

"The new paper offers no advantages over other generally available brands, and in particular does not lith process. It is also considerably more expensive than other brands so we are no longer bringing it into the UK.
"

Do others concur with this? If so, which *available* paper do you use as an alternative to the orginal OS FB paper?

Hi Mark,
Firstly , yes I concur with that statement. see my reply to a concurrent topic here (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

The statement you post (which you took from here http://www.silverprint.co.uk/paper2.html) was previously reported in another thread here (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I had a good email conversation with Peter Hogan from www.monochromephotography.com and he personally recommended that I try out the Forte Coldtone Multicontrast FB paper to replace the old Oriental Seagull. I was able to ask a friend visiting from Hungary get some for me and I'm just about to try it out.

regards
Peter
