having an idea here..i will be shooting a 612 project on my ebony sw45 and once I have framed my scene and then set up roll film back i will need to wait for (almost) decisive moment within the frame...is there any way of using an optical viewfinder with the ebony..like one of the ones made for the fotoman, swd, cameras etc..that has a masking frame for 612 with certain lenses..or even zoom ones from china..this is not for critical focussing at all..just for seeing what the 612 sees in that perfect moment.

thanks.

Hi,
Why not just make a mask like the ground glass protector which comes with the camera and cut the 6x12 hole in it?? It rides on the ground glass and would come off with it when you remove the GG to place the holder....EC

It's hard to imagine what you are shooting but if it's a scene that's reasonably distant (15m+) I'd say just pick important landmarks at the edge of the frame when composing on the groundglass so you know where your moving subject is relative to the frame when you release the shutter.

Ebony do make a 4x5 viewing frame ($$) for their cameras. You could use a couple of lengths of thread tied across the frame to approximate 6x12 if accuracy is not 100% important.
